The compact casing houses a fully professional processor charger with a three-stage TC / CC / CV charging process. Xtar VP2 Charges standard Li / ion 3.6 / 3.7V cells and Li-ion high voltage 3.8V batteries as well as lithium iron batteries (LiFePO4). Batteries of any capacity in sizes 10440, 14500, 14650, 16340, 17500, 17670, 18350, 18500, 18650, 18700, 20700, 21700, 22650, 25500, 26650 are supported from these types. the housing and the charging current is set by the button on the housing. The voltage for both charging channels is set together - in charging you cannot simultaneously charge cells with different nominal voltages . The charging current is also common to both channels.

Xtar VP2 is equipped with an LCD display informing about the charging current, charging progress and current battery voltage. The currently selected charging voltage is displayed in unused channels.

What is the TC / CC / CV charging method? It is a three-stage process of charging Li-ion cells that ensures that the cell is in good condition by charging with the right current at each stage and ending the charging process at the right time.
The individual stages of the TC / CC / CV process are:
• TC phase: cells discharged below 2.9V are "woken up" by a lower current.
• CC phase: after reaching 2.9V, the cell is charged with constant current and voltage of the value selected by the user (default 0.25A)
• CV phase: when the cell is almost charged, the charger switches to charging with decreasing current until it reaches 4.2V on the cell. After reaching 4.2V, the charging process is completed - the battery is fully charged.

Charged batteries left in the charger will undergo a natural self-discharge process. Charging will resume when the battery voltage drops below 3.9V for Li-ion and 3.3V for LiFePO4.

The Xtar VP2 charger has the function of reactivating deeply discharged cells and 0V cells. Many chargers on the market are not able to charge such batteries. Here, the Xtar VP2 charger comes in handy , which in many cases allows you to 'save' such cells. Just insert a deeply discharged battery into the VP2 charger, as with normal charging - the charger will detect the discharged cell and attempt to reactivate it.

Warning! Cells discharged below a certain level are irreversibly damaged and may not be reactivated. Avoid too deep discharge of Li-ion batteries - this can lead to a significant reduction in their durability and capacity or lead to their total malfunction.

Chargers from other manufacturers can significantly increase the temperature of the cells being charged during charging. Excessive heating of the cells can cause their faster wear. When designing the VP2 charger, Xtar went a step further from the competition, solving this problem in a simple way: power supply from an external power supply was used. As a result, the temperature of the battery charged in VP2 will increase by a maximum of 15 degrees.

Xtar VP2 has an additional power bank function with a USB 5V 1A output. As a power source you can use any Li-ion or LiFePO4 battery with a minimum capacity of 2200mAh. To use the power bank function, disconnect the charger from the AC adapter or car adapter, place the battery in the first channel of the charger and hold the charging current selection button for 1.5 seconds. The battery discharge status is signaled by a diode on the charger casing.

Together with the charger Xtar VP2 we get an AC adapter with an EU plug and a 12V cigarette lighter cable.
