Professional processor charger with three-stage TC / CC / CV charging process. Xtar VP4 charges standard 3.6 / 3.7V Li-ion cells in sizes 10440, 14500, 14650, 16340, 17500, 17670, 18350, 18500, 18650, 18700, 20700, 21700, 22650, 25500, 26650, 32650. Batteries with the largest sizes, i.e., 22650, 26650 and 32650 can be charged only in two extreme channels. The charging current is determined jointly for all channels by a button located above the display. When charging 1-2 batteries located in the extreme channels, the maximum charging current is 1A. However, when charging 3-4 batteries or placing at least one battery in one of the two middle channels, the maximum charging current is 0.5A.

Xtar VP4 is equipped with an LCD display informing about the charging current, charging progress and current battery voltage.

What is the TC / CC / CV charging method? It is a three-stage process of charging Li-ion cells that ensures that the cell is in good condition by charging with the right current at each stage and ending the charging process at the right time.
The individual stages of the TC / CC / CV process are:
• TC phase: cells discharged below 2.9V are "woken up" by a lower current.
• CC phase: after reaching 2.9V, the cell is charged with constant current and voltage of the value selected by the user (default 0.25A)
• CV phase: when the cell is almost charged, the charger switches to charging with decreasing current until it reaches 4.2V on the cell. After reaching 4.2V, the charging process is completed - the battery is fully charged.

Charged batteries left in the charger will undergo a natural self-discharge process. Charging will resume when the battery voltage drops below 3.9V for Li-ion and 3.3V for LiFePO4.

The Xtar VP4 charger has the function of reactivating deeply discharged and 0V cells. Many chargers on the market are not able to charge such batteries. Here, the Xtar VP4 charger comes in handy , which in many cases allows you to 'save' such cells. Just insert a deeply discharged battery into the VP4 charger, as with normal charging - the charger will detect the discharged cell and attempt to reactivate it.

Warning! Cells discharged below a certain level are irreversibly damaged and may not be reactivated. Avoid too deep discharge of Li-ion batteries - this can lead to a significant reduction in their durability and capacity or lead to their total malfunction.

Chargers from other manufacturers can significantly increase the temperature of the cells being charged during charging. Excessive heating of the cells can cause their faster wear. When designing the VP4 charger, Xtar went a step further from the competition, solving this problem in a simple way: power supply from an external power supply was used. As a result, the temperature of the battery charged in VP4 will increase by a maximum of 15 degrees.

Xtar VP4 has an additional power bank function with a USB 5V 1A output. As a power source you can use any Li-ion or LiFePO4 battery with a minimum capacity of 2200mAh. To use the power bank function, disconnect the charger from the AC adapter or car adapter, place the battery in the first channel of the charger and hold the charging current selection button for 1.5 seconds. The battery discharge status is signaled by a diode on the charger casing.

Together with the charger Xtar VP4 we get an AC adapter with an EU plug and a 12V cigarette lighter cable.
